Original Egyptian lotus motif for this GOTS-certified organic cotton stole. The material is soft and comfortable, yet resistant thanks to a special wash after weaving. Perfectly finished, with a mini fringe at the base and a thin hem at the sides. For everyday wear all year round. It is made entirely in our LYON workshop with the greatest care and in the purest tradition of Jacquard weaving. The GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certification of the cotton making up this chèche is an international standard that applies to fibers with defined criteria guaranteeing their organic nature. The entire GOTS-certified production process is socially and environmentally responsible. The aim is to prove the authenticity of organic raw materials to consumers, in terms of processing, manufacturing and packaging, right through to marketing and distribution.

INSPIRATION

The design of this scarf is inspired by ancient Egypt. Lotus flowers intertwine and overlap throughout the scarf, symbolizing rebirth, purity and divine beauty. The material chosen for this organic cotton large scarf accentuates this symbolism. The background of the stole is denim blue and the motifs are colored in shades of navy and blue jean.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

To wash a stole made from organic cotton and modal, we recommend hand washing. However, if your washing machine has a real delicate program without spinning, you can use it. Ironing should be done with a soft iron and steam to preserve all the natural properties of the fibers that make up this scarf. If tumble-drying is forbidden, dry-cleaning is permitted.

TRADITIONALLY MADE

The Jacquard weaving technique used to make this scarf involves interweaving modal warp yarns and organic cotton weft yarns in a specific pattern. The “La Fabrique d'écharpe” weaving workshop has Jacquard looms for this purpose. The “Jacquard” loom was developed by Joseph Marie Jacquard of Lyon in 1801, and was the first programmable mechanical system with perforated cards to produce patterns by crossing colored threads. Thanks to know-how handed down from generation to generation since 1880, we now have electronically controlled “Jacquard” looms that guarantee the perfect quality of our fabrics while respecting the purest Lyonnais tradition.
