To wash a cashmere stole, we recommend hand-washing in lukewarm or cold water, using a detergent specially formulated for wool fabrics. Don't leave your scarf to soak for too long, and wring it out without wringing it out in a cotton towel. With a steam iron that's not too hot, you can iron and steam your cashmere scarf to restore its softness and suppleness. If tumble-drying is forbidden, dry-cleaning is recommended.

The Jacquard weaving technique used to make this scarf involves interweaving silk warp threads and cashmere weft threads in a specific pattern. The “La Fabrique d'écharpe” weaving workshop has Jacquard looms for this purpose. The “Jacquard” loom was developed by Joseph Marie Jacquard of Lyon in 1801, and was the first programmable mechanical system with perforated cards to produce patterns by crossing colored threads.
